Cultural life

The cultural life of the city and county centers around a network of cultural institutions, numerous associations, artistic groups and also individual artists.

Places providing services in the field of culture in the county are:

- The M.Konopnicka District Centre of Culture and Arts in Ciechanów,

- Municipal cultural centers in Glinojeck, Grudusk, Opinogóra Górna and Sońsk,

- Museum institutions: the Museum of Mazovian Gentry, together with the Castle of the Dukes of Mazovia in Ciechanów, the Museum of Positivism in Gołotczyzna, the Museum of Romanticism in Opinogóra Górna,

- The Ciechanów Centre for Cultural Education "STUDIO".

District Culture and Art Center in Ciechanów plays major role in the cultural and social life of the city, which carries a very broad cultural and educational activity.

Ensembles, operating at community centers, etched permanently in the landscape of the city and county: the Folk Artistic Ensemble "Ciechanów", the OSP Municipal Brass Band, "Pod fryzjerką band", “Bez Przesady Jazzowy" band, the bard Wojciech Gęsicki.

The County Centre of Culture and Art organizes international and national events: International Folklore Meetings "Kupalnocka", the International Theatre Festival "Dionizje", the National Competition of Poetry "O Laur Opina", the Ciechanów Autumn of Poetry, Meetings with the Blues, the Ciechanów Day of World Poetry Day set by UNESCO, International Days of priest Maciej Sarbiewski.

The most important regional events to promote the traditions and artistic movement and artistic work are: the Ciechanów Easter and Christmas Fair, the New Year's Concert "Gala", the Recitation Contest of Romantic Poetry, the Review of Amateur Theatres, the Review of Children and Youth Song, the reconstruction of the Battle of Sarnowa Mountain, concerts in the Museum of Romanticism in Opinogóra, series of meetings: "From the library shelves," "Walking through Ciechanów", “Meetings with the book "in the B.Biegas Gallery.
